A group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they, along with a fellow tourist embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.
I also thought I was going to see some king of Ancient Aztec/Maya curse of some kind. As another comment, they get trapped inside the Pyramid and they die trying to get out. I think I would have liked to see some "subtitles" for the "guardians" of the Pyramid. I don't speak Ancient Aztec/Maya but would have liked to know what was being said. Although I know that was maybe supposed to be part of the "mystery" but still for us viewers it could have maybe made sense, especially when they are talking amongst themselves. Just a thought. If someone has seen the actual movie release in video please let me know if the subtitles are available..I'm thinking like in Mel Gibson's "Apocalipto"
A slightly above average horror flick. Great performances despite a pretty weak script.. I read the book too, and it was pretty weak as well. At least the try to bury the script by hiring some smokin' hot actors. My attention was held through the whole movie.. but the whole thing starts to fall apart when you find out what the monster is.. I won't RUIN the ending though.
This movie was very interesting. Makes me never want to go near anything Mayan lol. The acting was great but they could have done some things to make this better like improve the story a little more cause everything seemed to just decrease as far as the interesting factor is concerned. In other words, the story got a little dry near the end but the things that happened that lead up to it was ok I suppose. I'll rate this movie a..3/5, basically just because of the acting. Definately worth A watch..once..a good watch if you have nothing better to do. I DEFINATELY agree with the comment about subtitles for the "guardians"so to speak. Would have been nice to see what their thoughts were about the situation even though it was rather obvious.
