Indian movies are visually very beautiful and I find them more entertaining than American movies at times. It seems over the last decade that the Bollywood stars are becoming more and more bleached, so to speak. There's nothing wrong with a light-skinned Indian, but there seems to be a movement toward depicting being Indian in culture and not genetics (doesn't look Indian). Granted this is MY idea of what I remember Indian people to look like, what I associate with India, nonetheless, it has become clear that being Indian is not popular (contact lenses, lightening skin) and I am distressed at your promoting this idea.
Watching Tashan- I had to stop at 18:28 and say, "What's up with all the white chicks?!". I watch Indian movies--even though I have not yet learned Hindi--because I want to see, and be entertained by, the immensely beautiful INDIAN actors and dancers. So, where is the Indian talent for your films? When I see a lot of non-Indian people in films I ask myself, how much Indian talent went overlooked to put these people in? They ahve nothing to do with the storyline, so why not hire Indian dancers? It's great to see diversity-and I'd sure like to make an appearance in a film for fun- yet I wonder at the motivation behind this.. I'd love to see a dark leading man (and lady, not neccessarily together) and I'd love to see LESS Americanization/Europeanization.
To avoid any misunderstanding I must say, I love the sound of Metal/Rock in other languages and to have it culturally flavored, so please intergrate your culture all you wish, as artistic expression is without bounds, but PLEASE let's keep things 85% min, INDIAN! I realize this may be the popular culture of the time, however, in my humble, non-Indian opinion, I see things getting out of hand and you are a powerful force in minimizing the damage. This may sound like a strange request to you and there is nothing I can say about that..(except down with dilution).
I respectfully request that if you cannot re-Indianize Bollywood movies, please make up a separate category of culturally correct films, with varied themes/topics and genres, starring talent of all shades and perhaps some regular people thrown in the mix. Who knows, you may start a new trend of people liking who they are and how they look! Imagine that!
This is the humble opinion of a great admirer and appreciator of Indian culture. I request you please give this some thought.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to seeing more varied shades of color in talent within the next year.
Sincerely,
EscapefromReality

So many people by into being white as if it were the pinicale of everything in the world, but it is not they are warmongers, fakers, liers, just like all people who act as if they live in Disneyland, and not the real world. Until all people realize that GOD created you all equal then you will realize it is stupid to put another on a petsal because of the color of thier skin when it is only melanin a skin pigment that make our skin lighter or darker then those around us. But people must also stop putting other cultures on petstals too, there are good and bad thing about each and every culture, so tresure yours and share it! Maybe mankind will learn how to use the best of each one instaed of trying to destroy others and thier way of life! Mabe mankind will sopt being an infant and one day grow to become a toddler!
