if that is true then that's pretty messed up. the movie was pretty interesting and it was pretty good. it would have been better if i understood what those people were saying. other than that the movie was pretty good.
I thought this was a good movie, on some very important subject matter. The movie itself could have been much better, but I see why the film makers choose a more moderate approach - the whole truth would have been much harder to market. This incident is not an isolated one by any means, ANYONE who is considered even slightly suspicious can be removed from American land and have this happen to them (even American citizens). I will be shocked if anyone is just hearing about these undertakings for the first time through watching this movie. This is everyday practice not just for the American government, but for many countries world wide. .. Cheney was recently quoted saying that the US government does not consider water-boarding torture(the technique seen in the movie where the man is tied to a board upside down and water is poured into his mouth to simulate drowning). That it's a legitimate method of getting information. It's scary to think of what other methods of interrogation they deem legitimate. If the movie was a realistic portrait; the CIA would be doing the torturing, there would be no heroic happy ending, and after days or months of horrific torture (stuff that cannot be shown in theatres) the man would have died an unimaginable death. Any information gathered from him would have been a desperate attempt to escape what was happening to him. Overall the best line in the movie was when Jake Gyllenhaal's character says something along the lines of "All this is doing is creating more terrorists". I'm so glad that line was included in the movie, because the truth is, the main success in the 'war on terror' has been creating more and more "terrorists". Think about it.. and don't rely on the mainstream media for the truth.. they're worse than the f*cking politicians.
i for one do not always want to know what are government has to do to keep us free i would smoke 100 rag heads to save 1 american life all i can say to the liberal americans out there join up go to iraq and i think most of you will have a change of heart there is no compassion in freedom it is worth dieing and killing for - Sgt. 75th Ranger 2nd bat.
